Cambria and I set out early this morning to scout a large industrial complex to see which buildings had gone abandoned and which had stayed in use. We learned what we had gone to learn and headed back towards home. On the way, we stopped here. Just a few quick shots without my tripod.

Dark Ascents Climb
The Dark Ascents crew, old friends of mine, contacted me asking if I'd be interested in a late night climb. I'm always down for a climb. It's hard to find others willing to risk their safety, so I jumped at the offer.
We traveled out of state and waited for the sun to set.

Shortly after this section of ladder, the metal began to be more and more corroded to the point the ladder itself was flapping in the breeze. We decided not to push our luck on unsafe ladders, considering we were free climbing it with no safety gear.
Back on the ground, I took a bunch more shots.
We may not have made it to the very top, but this night was full of epic win. You can find the write up done by Dark Ascents here. http://darkascents.com/2009/07/27/overcliff-tower/
